Established in 2014 by Dr David Bowser, a former neuroscientist and academic at Melbourne and Cambridge Universities, Curio is a collective of creatively inspired, intellectually curious advisers and product developers focused on education and research institutions.
Curio’s initial product offering is Sessions, an industry disrupter in the educational recruitment market.
The vision is to establish the platform as the de facto choice for connecting sessional educators with universities and TAFEs through direct search and via seek expressions of interest.
Our initial challenge was to translate this high-level vision into a robust and meaningful product roadmap and support Curio in defining the minimum viable product for launch.
We did this through a combination of contextual user interviews, participatory design and paper prototyping, feeding into feature prioritisation and also informing our work in defining branding and infrastructure architecture.
Sessions includes simple, easy to use tools for managing recruitment of educators. These include multiple shortlists, rating applicants, tagging, contacting referees and communicating directly with candidates all within the application.
We have also integrated enterprise search service Elastic Search gearing the product for future growth.
Launched at the end of 2015, Sessions has already been adopted by sixteen major Australian institutions with over 5000 seasonal teachers already signing up for the service.
